Some great pics taken at last years cyclemania by Jordan of the car alternator setup I was running on the xs400 chopper. I fabbed a block off plate with an oil seal where the original (fried) rotor/stator was, as well as a bracket to let the clutch do it's thing. Picked up a new alternator for a chevy sprint, and wired it in. Worked great, and as a bonus (because of the chev alternator wiring) got a charging indicator lamp, and a signal for my rpm gauge! It charged beautifully (I calculated the proper gearing for it), but had a tendency to chew up and spit out sprockets at inopportune times!

  1. here man i dont suppose youve got a scan of the plate you could send us or know what size the seal was as ive got one of these bags of shit chopped and the stator failed but you cant get a replacement anymore so was hoping to try and do the same as you and run an alternator
