Some great pics taken at last years cyclemania by Jordan of the car alternator setup I was running on the xs400 chopper. I fabbed a block off plate with an oil seal where the original (fried) rotor/stator was, as well as a bracket to let the clutch do it's thing. Picked up a new alternator for a chevy sprint, and wired it in. Worked great, and as a bonus (because of the chev alternator wiring) got a charging indicator lamp, and a signal for my rpm gauge! It charged beautifully (I calculated the proper gearing for it), but had a tendency to chew up and spit out sprockets at inopportune times!

Taking the bike to Cyclemania. At 9 1/2 feet long, this is how we had to transport it! Didn't get it finished in time, but at least it was a roller. The girder is together in it's final configuration, and I couldn't be more pleased. It went together like a charm, and everything seems solid. First ride will tell, I guess. Still lots to do: fab some handlebars, battery box, chain tensioner, rear fender, front caliper mount. The head is now in Reid from R&L's capable hands getting some new APE valve guides, springs, and SS valves installed.
Done the wheels! Trued, tubed, and tired!
Front: 90's yz125 dirtbike hub & spokes, chinese dirtbike 21" chrome rim (1.4" wide), dirtbike disc brake and nissin caliper. Having no front brakes looks cool, until some bitch talking on her cell phone cuts you off.
Rear: original 70's cb 750 hub (completely gone through and rebuilt), laced to a Harley 16" rim I salvaged from the garbage pile at R&L motorcycles, the (best) local used bike/parts/repair shop in Saskatoon.
