Uh, holy fucking crap. This is what a piston from the 215ci v-twin engine concept/build from Bad Dog Cycles looks like! That's 3500cc's of v-twin power! Looks-wise, it'll beat the hell out of the ass ugly Boss Hoss motorcycles too. I have a boner.

Why I don't wave to other riders anymore (and haven't for a few years).

Reason one: I probably don't like you. Chances are good that you're either some chatch on a wayyyy overpowered sportbike (with matching leathers and a summer of riding experience), or an OCC fan who bought into Harleys latest "tough biker guy" marketing campaign (complete with Harley brand boots, jeans, tshirt, jacket, helmet, and shades). No, I don't hate sportbikes or cruisers at all, just the majority of the losers who ride them.
Reason two: If I take my hand off the bar, it'll be to shift gears or rub the leg of the hottie sitting behind me. Otherwise it's doing what it's supposed to be doing-steering the bike. And I'm just too lazy (see reason number three).
Reason three: Have you seen how many fucking bikes are on the road these days? It's obscene. Screw that shit.
Exceptions: When it's March or November and snowing or brutally cold. When it's been raining all day and it's 10 degrees. When it's January and the streets have temporarily melted during a weird warm spell (as in 2 degrees out). When I see a pack of sportbike riders all dressed in matching leathers and helmets (hey, you gotta have balls to be THAT out of the closet!). You get the idea: when all the pussies (no disrespect to the hardass female riders out there) are in their four wheeled cages with the heat and windshield wipers on.

Some pics (finally)!
Frame jig!
Welding away
Mocking up rake, stretch, ground clearance etc.
Downtube and neck firsttaking shape
The motor, original frame, and tank (take note of the tank, soon to be chopped & screwed)!

Nice little motor, just needs some speed holes.

Rear motor mount... with speed holes.
Cross bracing. Looks cool, and adds a little extra "my shitty welds broke @ 140kph" insurance.
Neck gusset. See a theme going on?
Exhaust. Will be wrapped, except for stainless slash cut tip. Room for a baffle should the law insist.
Thanks to Opheim and Csik for showing me how to mig weld sheet.
Original tank, large pie shape cut out, two filler necks added.
Cool hump thing added. Yeah, well I like it.
The tank will stay without paint. Maybe wax or clearcoat for now... The caps are strange brass industrial plumbing bits (thanks Brian).
Cutting a section out of a trailer fender. Wide tires are gay (with respect to my gay friends).
Welded fender. Curve has been altered to match the profile of the tire, middle piece welded in for extra rigidity.
Underside. 100% penetration! Ok, 95%, but good enough for me!
Uh huh. It's starting to look like a bike. A ratillac, baby!
I can't even begin to describe how stoked I am to ride this.

It's been a while since I've posted anything (if I'm not in school, I'm at the garage, studying, or sleeping). With the deadline of April 17, Cyclemania 2009 looming, a few of my bastard brothers convinced me to make a change of plans. The problem was that the CBR600RR motor is not an easy fit into any kind of rigid frame, and is not exactly a great first frame build. Complicated rad plumbing, fuel injection with secondary injectors, an incredibly deep wet sump, and complex wiring all make for a loooong build time (at least if I'm gonna make it look cool). I do, however, have a great little Yamaha 400cc bike that I picked up from insurance salvage last year for cheap. Kickstart, 2 cylinder, low kms, 6 speed tranny, and carburetted (thank god!). As a bonus, under 475cc bikes don't require an inspection here in SK. It won't be as fast as the CBR, but it'll be a hella fun ride regardless. I won't really have the time to do much in the way of polishing and painting, but then again, do I really want to?

Progress so far:
-I've tack welded the (stretched & raked drop seat!) frame, finished motor mounts, and am finishing up some bracing.
-Gas tank has been drastically narrowed/reshaped, twin filler caps added, 60% complete (my first experience with mig and sheet metal!). Thank god for tank sealant!
-Twisty-assed exhaust system 90% fabbed. It'll get exhaust wrap, so no worries on weld appearance.
-motor has been speed-holed!
-risers complete.

To go:
-finish welding frame, tank, exhaust.
-fabricate foot controls (rear brake, clutch) and jockey shift.
-figure out rear fender, fab kick ass sissy bar.
-weld in bracket for seat suspension.
-fab Z bars.
-wiring and lights (as simply as possible).
-turn rear axle w/spacers on lathe.
-speed holes!!!

the pic button on the blog controls isn't working, so you'll have to wait for the visuals!

Okay, so I stole these pics directly from Loco Bastardo. The tubing bender is complete, tested, and works great! Distortion/flattening on 1" pipe is (at the worst point) is .030-.040"- just enough to be barely visible if one looks (really) hard. I can live with that. I built the bender with FREE plans from The Chopper Builder's Handbook website. I obviously couldn't have done it without them. Someone there went to a lot of effort to produce these plans, and chose to give them away in support of backyard chopper builders everywhere. The plans from these guys are often ripped off and sold for $$$ on ebay and the like, so the fact that this site freely gives them away is amazing and admirable.
The aluminum die and follower you see were cast from measurements given in the plan blueprints (although CBH recommends you purchase them from JD2). The die/follower set are my first successful cast aluminum pieces (the knowledge of which I obtained mostly from this website)!
I've already 50% completed the frame jig (with plans from CBH of course), and will either build their version of a tube miter or use the tube miter program to "manually" cut the tubing with a die grinder etc.

I'd like to say it's cheesy, but GTA is a kick ass franchise, so you know it's gonna be good.

A few pics of progress so far. Or lack thereof. The motor looks real nice all stripped down, and I scrounged an old tank that reminds me of the kind that Detroit Bros. manufactures (knock off of a Harley Hummer or something like that). The exhaust will stay wrapped, but we'll see what kind of mods I have to make. I hate to say it, but I'm gonna have to make a subtle baffle to go in there, as it fucking SCREAMS right now. I like it, but the local authorities don't.

The (re)build of my bike... The motor is from a 2004 cbr600rr that I bought from local salvage after the bike was in a total write off. I originally built this bike two years ago from a bunch of misc parts from various manufacturers. So far, I've had two kick ass summers on it, but it's time for a total revamp. Hard tail frame, redesigned airbox, all hoses and fittings hardlined/modified/replaced, wiring simplified and cleaned up, possibly a dry-sump oil delivery conversion, etc etc etc. Here's a few pics of the original build:
